Breathwork With Brighton
Your breath can change your state. Training it can change your life.
A science-informed, deeply human approach to breathing that helps you regulate your nervous system, improve the way you breathe every day, and access deeper emotional transformation.
Different breathing practices create different effects. The method should match the person, the intention, and the moment.
A wider approach to breathing
Breathwork is not one thing.
A practice designed to settle the nervous system is different from one designed to improve breathing function, build resilience, or create deeper emotional access. The work begins by understanding what you actually need.
Change your state
Use the breath to interrupt stress, settle activation, and become more available to the present moment.
- Slow and rhythmic breathing
- Extended exhalation
- Vagal-toning practices
- Downregulation tools
Improve how you breathe
Build breathing habits that support sleep, recovery, resilience, movement, and performance throughout daily life.
- Nasal breathing
- Diaphragmatic mechanics
- CO₂ tolerance
- Breath-hold training
Access something deeper
Use conscious connected breathing, music, somatic awareness, and integration to move beyond habitual thinking and create a meaningful internal shift.
- Conscious connected breathing
- Music-driven journeys
- Somatic and emotional access
- Breath holds and integration
The core philosophy
We breathe how we feel. And we feel how we breathe.
Your breathing reflects your internal state—but it also gives you a direct way to influence it.
The way you breathe affects how you respond to pressure, recover from stress, access emotion, move through discomfort, and experience your own body.
Breathwork gives us an entry point. The goal is not simply to feel different for an hour. It is to build greater range, awareness, and choice in the moments that matter.
The breath is not the destination. It is the doorway.Ways to begin

What the work can support
The practice should match the outcome.
Breathwork is most useful when we stop treating every technique as interchangeable and start choosing practices based on the effect we are trying to create.
- Regulate stress and internal activation
- Recover more effectively from pressure
- Improve breathing awareness and mechanics
- Build greater tolerance for discomfort
- Access and process emotion
- Reconnect with clarity, meaning, and direction
- Feel more present and connected to your body
- Develop practical breathing tools for daily life
A technique designed to calm the nervous system is different from one designed to create activation, emotional access, or an altered state. The method, intensity, and pacing should reflect the person and the purpose.
What makes the approach different
The goal is not intensity. It is the right experience at the right dose.
Preparation before activation
We do not drop people directly into an intense breathing pattern. The body is oriented, the practice is explained, and the nervous system is prepared for what comes next.
Technique matched to intention
Downregulation, breathing retraining, performance, and emotional transformation require different practices. The method should serve the outcome.
Choice throughout the experience
Participants are encouraged to adjust, slow down, pause, or change the practice while staying in relationship with their own body.
Integration after the shift
The value is not only what happens during the breathing. It is how the experience changes what becomes available afterward.
The experience
More than a breathing technique.

Part breath training. Part nervous-system experience. Part invitation to meet yourself differently.
What to expect
More than lying on the floor and breathing.
Arrive
Settle into the room, understand the practice, and establish an intention without forcing an outcome.
Prepare
Use grounding, nervous-system regulation, rhythmic breathing, and body awareness to prepare for the experience.
Breathe
Move through a carefully guided journey supported by music, verbal guidance, breath holds, somatic awareness, and options for adjusting the intensity.
Integrate
Allow the body to settle and make meaning from what arose through stillness, sound, reflection, or conversation.
Breathwork stories
The real measure is what becomes available afterward.

Dormant parts reopened.
"What struck me most was the ability of breathwork to access and unlock dormant parts of myself. It was as if I was releasing years of accumulated stress, anxiety, and stagnant energy.""
Kelly Donahoe, LONZA USAA profound experience of love.
"I went to church for over 50 years, and tonight was the first time in my life that I’ve gotten to a point where I was completely overwhelmed by nothing but pure love."
Dennis Lynn, Senior Director of Human Development & Family Sciences at OSUWhat had been avoided became workable.
"The emotional release I experienced has allowed me to identify, reflect on, and start to process a very deep trauma that I’ve never really been able to acknowledge or talk about out loud."
Rebecca Seltzer, Real Estate ManagerSafety and fit
Powerful does not mean forceful.
Breathwork exists on a spectrum. Some practices are gentle and regulating; others are intentionally activating and can create strong physical or emotional experiences.
You remain in choice.
Clear instructions, pacing options, and permission to pause are built into the experience. The practice should be adjusted to the person—not the person forced to conform to the practice.
Activating breathwork may not be appropriate for everyone. Participants complete an applicable health and safety review before higher-intensity experiences.
